Post Editor
Master the LinkedGrow post editor with AI assist, Algorithm Score, media attachments, and publishing controls.
Overview
The Post Editor is where you refine, polish, and publish your LinkedIn posts. Whether you start from an AI-generated draft or write from scratch, the editor gives you full control over your content.
Writing and formatting
The editor provides a rich text area with a real-time character counter. LinkedIn has a 3,000-character limit for posts, and the counter updates as you type so you always know where you stand.
You can format your posts with:
- Line breaks and spacing for readability
- Bullet points and numbered lists
- Emojis (type them directly using your operating system's emoji input -- for example, Cmd+Ctrl+Space on Mac or Win+. on Windows)
AI Assist
The AI Assist panel lets you request specific edits to your post without rewriting it manually. You can ask the AI to:
- Change the tone (make it more professional, casual, or engaging)
- Shorten or lengthen the post
- Improve the hook (opening lines)
- Add a call-to-action
- Rephrase specific sections
Type your request in the AI Assist field and click apply. The AI edits your post while preserving your core message.
Algorithm Score
The Algorithm Score analyzes your post against LinkedIn's ranking factors and gives it a score from 0 to 100. The score breaks down into four components:
- Hook Strength - How compelling your opening lines are. Ideal first lines are 10-100 characters and create curiosity or promise value.
- Length - Whether your post is in the optimal range. LinkedIn's algorithm favors posts between 800-1,500 characters.
- Formatting - Use of bullet points, line breaks, and special characters that improve readability and dwell time.
- Engagement - Presence of questions, calls-to-action, and engagement triggers that encourage comments and shares.
Aim for a score above 70 for best performance. The score updates in real time as you edit.
Adding media
You can attach images and videos to your posts:
- Images - Upload from your device or generate AI images (Pro+ plan). Multiple images create a gallery post.
- Videos - Upload video files. Videos are too large to be stored by LinkedGrow, so posts with videos must be published immediately. Video posts cannot be scheduled or saved as drafts.
Media appears as a preview below your post content.
Publishing options
At the bottom of the editor, you have three main actions:
- Save as Draft - Save your work without publishing. Access drafts anytime from the Posts library.
- Schedule - Pick a future date and time for automatic publishing. A date/time picker appears with timezone support.
- Publish Now - Send the post to LinkedIn immediately. Your connected LinkedIn account must be active.
Tips for high-performing posts
- Start with a strong hook - the first 2 lines determine whether people click "see more"
- Keep paragraphs short (1-3 lines max)
- End with a question or call-to-action to drive comments
- Use the Algorithm Score as a guide but trust your instincts on content quality
- Preview your post on mobile if possible - most LinkedIn users browse on their phones
