Network Notifications

Overview

Network Notifications is where you keep small groups of people whose LinkedIn posts you want to follow closely. You create a group, you invite people to it by email, and everyone who accepts appears in the member list of that group.

The publish notification itself is not delivered in this edition. The code that would email the other members when one of them posts exists and nothing calls it, so no message arrives in anyone's inbox. The groups and their member lists work; the delivery does not.

Network Notifications is available on the Pro plan and higher.

Why this exists

LinkedIn's feed is noisy enough that you regularly miss posts from the people you care about most, your peers and the creators whose work you actually want to read.

A network group is a small list of those people. It is the list the notification would read from, and it is worth keeping accurate for the day the delivery is wired back up.

Requirements

Everyone you invite needs an account on this instance, because the invitation is accepted while signed in. Nothing else is needed to create a group or to join one.

On linkedgrow.ai that account also needs an active plan, because the dashboard closes to an account whose trial has ended.

Creating a group

1. Go to Network Notifications in the left sidebar
2. Click New Group
3. Enter a name (e.g. "Founder Circle", "Marketing Friends")
4. Click Create

You are added as the owner of any group you create.

Inviting members

1. Find your group and click Invite
2. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite
3. Click Send Invitation

They receive an email with a link to join, and that one is genuinely sent through the email provider your administrator configured. Invitations expire after 7 days, and you can cancel a pending one at any time.

A single group holds 20 members, counting both the people who have accepted and the invitations still waiting for an answer.

What happens when someone publishes

Nothing reaches the other members of the group today. A member can publish through LinkedGrow, the post goes out on LinkedIn as normal, and no other member is told about it on any screen or in any inbox.

Bringing the notification back is a change to the code rather than a setting in the dashboard, so there is nothing here for you to switch on while it stays this way.

Managing groups

As the group owner you can:

• Rename a group
• Invite new members
• Remove members you no longer want in the group
• Cancel pending invitations
• Delete a group to permanently remove it

Only the group owner can do any of that.

Important notes

• Network Notifications was never an engagement system. LinkedGrow does not like, comment or repost on anyone's behalf here, and it did not do so when the email was still being sent.
• If you would rather not be in a group, you can leave it from the same screen.
