Cross Promotion

Create cross-promotion groups to boost each other's LinkedIn posts with likes, comments, and reposts.

Overview

Cross promotion is a system that helps you and other LinkedIn creators boost each other's posts. You create a group, invite other LinkedGrow users, and whenever anyone in the group publishes a LinkedIn post, all other members get notified via email. They can then like, comment, and repost - giving every post in the group an immediate engagement boost.

It works both ways. When you publish, your group members support your post. When they publish, you support theirs.

Cross promotion is available on the Pro plan and higher.

Requirements

Before using cross promotion, every participant needs:

  • A Pro plan or higher on LinkedGrow
  • A connected LinkedIn account (Dashboard > Settings > LinkedIn)
  • An AI API key configured (optional, but needed for auto-generated comments)

Without a connected LinkedIn account, members cannot perform engagement actions. Without an AI API key, the auto-generated comment field will be empty and members will need to write comments manually.

Creating a Group

To create a cross-promotion group:

  1. Go to Cross Promotion in the left sidebar
  2. Click New Group
  3. Enter a name for your group
  4. Click Create

You are automatically added as the owner of the group. There is no limit to how many groups you can create.

Inviting Members

To invite people to your group:

  1. Go to Cross Promotion in the left sidebar
  2. Find your group and click Invite
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite
  4. Click Send Invite

The invited person receives an email with a link to accept the invitation. They must have a LinkedGrow account with a Pro plan or higher to join.

Invitations expire after 7 days. If the invitation is not accepted in time, you can send a new one. You can also cancel a pending invitation at any time from the group page.

How It Works When You Publish

When any group member publishes a LinkedIn post, the following happens automatically:

  1. LinkedGrow detects the new post
  2. All other group members receive an email notification with a link
  3. Each member clicks through to a review page on LinkedGrow
  4. They review the post, adjust their engagement preferences, and approve

No action is taken on LinkedIn until a member explicitly approves. This gives everyone full control over what they engage with.

The Review Page

When you click through from the notification email, you land on a review page that shows:

  • The full post content so you can read what you are engaging with
  • Three toggles - Like, Comment, and Repost - all turned on by default
  • An AI-generated comment pre-filled in an editable text field

You can turn off any of the three actions if you prefer not to perform them. You can also edit the AI-generated comment or write your own from scratch.

When you are satisfied, click Approve & Schedule. LinkedGrow then schedules the engagement actions on your behalf.

Timing

To keep engagement looking natural on LinkedIn, actions are staggered with random delays:

Action Timing After Approval
Like 1 - 3 minutes
Comment 3 - 7 minutes
Repost 7 - 15 minutes

Each action runs at a random time within its window, so the engagement does not appear coordinated. Different group members will also approve at different times, further spreading out the activity.

Managing Groups

As the group owner, you can manage your groups from the Cross Promotion page:

  • Rename a group to update its display name
  • Remove members who you no longer want in the group
  • Cancel invitations that are still pending
  • Delete a group to permanently remove it and all its members

Only the group owner can perform these management actions.

Activity History

The Cross Promotion dashboard shows a history of all past engagement actions. For each action, you can see:

  • Which post was engaged with
  • What actions were performed (like, comment, repost)
  • The status of each action (completed, pending, or failed)
  • When the action was executed

This helps you track how much engagement your group is generating and identify any issues.

Important Notes

  • Every group member must have their LinkedIn account connected to LinkedGrow. Without it, no engagement actions can be performed on their behalf.
  • An AI API key is optional but recommended. Without one, the comment field on the review page will be blank and you will need to write comments manually each time.
  • Each member's engagement actions come from their own LinkedIn profile. LinkedGrow never posts from an account the member has not connected.
  • Cross promotion requires manual approval for every post. Nothing happens on your LinkedIn until you click Approve & Schedule.
