Publishing Posts to LinkedIn
How to publish posts directly to LinkedIn from LinkedGrow, including text, image, and video posts.
How to publish a post
Once your LinkedIn account is connected, publishing is straightforward:
- Create or edit a post in the Editor
- Review the content and check the Algorithm Score
- Click Publish Now at the bottom of the editor
- LinkedGrow sends the post to LinkedIn's API
- The post goes live on your LinkedIn profile within seconds
After publishing, the post status changes to "Published" in your Posts library.
Supported post formats
Text posts
The most common format. Write your content in the editor and publish. Text posts support up to 3,000 characters on LinkedIn.
Image posts
Attach a single image to your post. The image can be uploaded from your device or generated with AI (Pro+ plan). The editor supports attaching one image at a time.
Video posts
You can attach a video file to your post. However, video posts have a limitation: they must be published immediately and cannot be scheduled. This is a LinkedIn API restriction, not a LinkedGrow limitation.
Verifying your post went live
After publishing, you can verify the post is live by:
- Checking the post status in the Posts library (should show "Published" with a timestamp)
- Opening LinkedIn directly to see the post on your profile
- Checking the "Recent Posts" section on your dashboard
Failed posts
Occasionally a post may fail to publish. Common reasons include:
- Expired LinkedIn token - Your connection needs to be refreshed in Settings
- Content policy violation - LinkedIn rejected the post content
- API rate limit - Too many posts in a short period (rare with normal usage)
- Network issues - Temporary connectivity problems
Failed posts show a "Failed" status in the Posts library. You can edit and retry publishing from the editor.
Best practices
- Review before publishing - AI-generated content is a first draft. Always read through and make personal edits before hitting Publish
- Check the Algorithm Score - Aim for 70+ for best engagement potential
- Preview on mobile - Most LinkedIn users browse on phones, so make sure your formatting looks good on small screens
- Time your posts - If you are publishing immediately, consider whether your audience is currently active on LinkedIn
- Monitor after publishing - Engage with comments on your post within the first hour for maximum algorithm boost
